The Blue Shield : The Salvation Army International Police Officer's Fellowship

The Salvation Army likes brass, music and vocals, so over the years the 'Blue Shield Fellowship' has obliged, forming a band from those members who are able to attend our TWICE YEARLY CAMPAIGN WEEKENDS. I MUST say that our Blue Shield Fellowship bands are not the greatest you will ever hear, how can they be with rehearsal only on the Saturday of getting to a venue, and then with no control over the instrumentation, BUT WE HAVE A GREAT TIME and with great results for GOD over such weekend campaigns.

It is wonderful to be able to mix with officers of all ranks from Assistant Chief Constable to cadets. The false barriers of rank could quickly be put aside in worship and fellowship.

During weekends we continue to have a 'no rank' approach to each other and where experiences, and the challenges of working life can, and are, shared with Fellowship colleagues. Leading the stronger commitment to keep closer to God as we return to our stations and every day challenges

The telephone and e mail network is a great support in times of stress as well as joy in sharing good news and all this in the unique way that is a career in the police service — of any country where we have membership.
